Move aside smart homes

Branding

Living brands are an area that really interests me. Thinking about the extra dimension allows for new life to be breathed into simple geometric shapes and conjures up combinations that might seem slightly awkward but somehow make for distinctive marks. It’s the space between where the real magic happens. The idea that a company’s traditional logo or brand mark is now simply a snapshot of a moment as it continues its transitions between states.

Get up, stand up, be heard

Branding / Design

Studio Output has answered the call to arms and joined forces with a filmmaker and photographer Josh Cole in getting young people to register to vote. RizeUp is a party-neutral campaign brought to life over the course of 48 hours, following the snap UK general election announcement.

Talking to me?

Branding / News

More and more we see the importance of how brands communicate with their audience. In particular the character and tone in the words they say and increasing as important, how we the audience expect them to sound. Possible the most authentic social platform ouTube is defined by its raw, filter free content. The challenge though is to engage with their content creators so they feel part of the brand, but also to reach out to the […]

Inspired by movement

Branding / Typography

Beautifully typography oozing sophistication and refinement brings a fresh feel to property development. The principles of dance — grace, poise, strength, tradition, beauty – inspired Melbourne based studio Seasaw to craft out a brand for the latest property development by Bensons Property Group.

Living identities start as a grand vision, but all to often stops at a simple animation. Australian Design Radio’s new mark goes beyond that first stage and truely breaths as a digital living mark. Australian Design Radio (ADR) is a podcast based in Sydney, Australia that aims to provide the global creative community with conversations and commentary on Australian Design. Eighteen months and over thirty episodes after launching, the team decided a complete overhaul of the brand was in […]

Creating a sense of home

Branding / Outstanding individuals

A man of seemingly few words, Quim Marin is a super rare talent who skillfully time and time again creates distinctive designs. Quim’s latest work for Wannahost, a home rental and host company based in Costa Brava, sees a typical injection of personality through simple forms. Centred around the messaging ‘Don’t worry, rent happy’ the identity plays with that warm and fuzzy feeling you get when you are comfortable in your surrounds.

Respecting the neighbourhood

Awesome agencies / Branding

Keeping a keen eye on its surrounds, A Friend of Mine have lovingly crafted a honest and raw identity which draws on its surrounding history. Embla is Christian McCabe’s (of The Town Mouse) new low-key wine bar / restaurant based in Melbourne’s inner city. A Friend of Mine crafted a down-to-earth brand identity, centred around a custom typeface based on neighbouring hand painted vintage signage to reference it’s contextual surrounds, alongside a textured torn paper collage to […]

Intelligent, honest recruitment and you

Branding

Overshadowed by the companies that hound you simply after that lucrative recruitment fee, making recruitment feel like it has a ‘equal’ place with the industry is a real challenge. UK agency Forth took on that challenge and delivered a creative brand campaign that would illustrate the unique working relationship they have with their network, knowing that it’s no longer enough to say what you do, you have to prove what you say.
